INTRO
A few years ago Albert Camus crossed my path. I started to read his works and got completely fascinated by his thinking and writing.
When the Symphony Orchestra of Flanders asked me to write a piece for them in 2012 I took the mythical character Sisyphus as a starting point. Camus wrote about him in his essay 'The Myth of Sisyphus' (1942), where Sisyphus represents the ultimate absurd man, confronted with the senselessness of his existance. But also as the example of man rising above his destiny.
